A Yarn Lover’s Stash

1 Sep

Yes.  Every yarn lover, every knitter, has a stash.

But no weird insinuations here.  A stash, is every knitter’s stock of yarn.

Weh, weh, weh.

Mine is actually very small compared to other knitters.  Long ago I decided that if my yarn box was full, I would not buy more yarn, until I used some of the yarn in the box.  My box is always full.  But I must confess there was that one time I “ran” into some cheap yarn on sale at a store, so  I have one other smaller container with yarn I don’t know what to use for.  Oh and then there was that time when I decided to “man up” and make  a sweater and went and bought 8 skeins of some cheap bulky yarn that was on sale.  I got through half of the easy bottom part of the sweater and got bored with the unexciting yarn.  It just didn’t inspire me, yarn has to inspire me.  So I have a bag of 8 skeins of that bulky yarn somewhere in my closet.  Eventually, I will take it out and make that sweater.  I figure if it’s my first sweater and I have the pattern, I might as well put up with the uninspiring yarn because it was cheap and it’s in my closet.  Heck, it doesn’t even have to be wearable; if I successfully make a sweater, I’d be content to stare at it pridefully  all day!

So without further ado, here’s my very own small stash:

Love the box you keep your yarn in. It’s so pretty! I could never live by your rules of needing to use what you have. Not that I have a big stash, but it seems like I’m always needing a new color for something!

Thanks for linking your post on my blog for Flash Your Stash! I can’t wait to see your stash change over time.

That was a great idea of linking blogs to flash our yarn! I do fail sometimes and feel like I don’t want to use anything I have, so we’ll see how long I can keep my one box rule!
